Meet Bishop Woods
K.R. Woods is “The Bishop on a Mission.” He was called to ministry at an early age and now celebrates 40 years of service to the body of Christ.
Bishop Woods has traveled extensively around the world as an evangelist, author, missionary and seminar speaker. He has held offices in the local church, community organizations and as Council Chairman for the 16th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. Currently, he serves as a Suffragan Bishop and International Missions Director for the 16th Episcopal District.
Bishop Woods is the founder and lead pastor of Covenant Church in Berkeley, CA. In 2023, Bishop Woods was installed as the pastor of a second church campus, Covenant Church of Brentwood, CA. Bishop Woods holds a bachelor of sociology from San Francisco State University and a bachelor of theology from Shiloh Bible College. He established the City Help Mobile Free Clinic, the CovCares Free Grocery Ministry, and the Random Acts of Kindness Outreach Ministry, and he is the author of the books Exploring the Gray Areas Volumes I & II.
Bishop Woods stands upon the words of Jesus in the Bible—”that he came not to be ministered unto, but to minister. His commission is to heal the broken hearted; preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind; to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18, 19) He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area.
