SERVING BEYOND THE FOUR WALLS
Church isn’t just contained within the four walls of our building. At The Cov, we believe we are called to serve our community, show the love of Christ, and win souls for the Kingdom of God.
We regularly take the church beyond the sanctuary and into the streets of Berkeley and surrounding communities; meeting people where they are and finding meaningful ways to make a difference.
From Community Clean-Up Days, where we clean neighborhood streets, care for yards, and help haul away items for neighbors who may not be able to do these tasks themselves, to simple acts of kindness and personal outreach, we believe that serving is an opportunity to show the love of God in action.
Our community outreach happens throughout the year on a regular basis, creating opportunities for us to connect with our neighbors, lend a helping hand, share hope, and introduce people to the love of Christ.
We clean. We serve. We care. We share. And most importantly, we win souls for the Kingdom.
Because sometimes, being the hands and feet of Jesus starts with something as simple as picking up a piece of trash, helping a neighbor, or showing someone that they are not forgotten.
This is church beyond the walls. We are The Church on a Mission.
What To Expect
If you’ve never done it before, witnessing to people on the street might seem strange at first for a modern-day church. But we believe it is our calling as followers of Jesus Christ to share His message with as many people as possible. Before we do outreach, we hold trainings so that members are equipped with talking to strangers. Small groups are then dispatched to different parts of the community so that everyone feels supported. Oftentimes, we will pass out gift cards and do random acts of kindness as well.
